Saying Goodbye

The last day of school came and went pretty much like this school year in general. I can't believe how short of a time I have with the kids. It's over before it really starts. It was a good year in Room 107 and I'll treasure the memories. Good luck to all of the 2nd... I mean 3rd graders. I will miss you all very much. Keep working hard and always remember to do your very best no matter what. Thanks again for a great year!

Happy Birthday Mrs. B.

Our faithful helper Mrs. B. (my mom) comes to our classroom every Monday to help out. We decided to make her cards on Monday to celebrate her birthday which was on Tuesday. When she came in we gave them to her and read one of our poems called, "In Praise of Penguins" because we know how much she likes penguins. We did a great job and Mrs. B. was really impressed. :)

Homework and Spelling Club

Every week students who get an "A" on their spelling test and turn in their completed homework get to have a special lunch to celebrate their hard work.  Here are a few pictures from our last H/SC!

Fine Arts Day

We had a great time last Thursday participating in our schools 2nd Annual FINE ARTS DAY! We were able to do lots of cool stuff as we learned about taking care of our Earth through the Fine Arts.

Josh and Taina race to recycle!

Elijah and Ashley go through the obstacle course in the gym.

The class played "Twinkle Twinkle Little Can" on their
homemade kazoos they built out of recycled materials.

Xavior and others make "music" out of squeaky balloons.

The students are anxious to learn about the different parts of a plant from Ms. Grubaugh.

Catching Up...

It had been a while since I had posted so I thought I'd throw in a couple other pictures I had. They are from our pizza party we had for good behavior and from an extra recess we took a couple weeks ago when the weather was beautiful. Enjoy!

Tin Caps!

On Wednesday our school went to check out the new ballpark downtown. All students who completed their reading program were invited to go. We had a great time and new stadium is awesome! Here are a few pictures from fun day.  Sorry it has been so long since we last posted. Life has gotten busy but we've been continuing to work hard. It is a beautiful Friday morning and we are looking forward to a great day!

SURPRISE DAY!!

Nobody saw it coming but when Mrs. West came over the intercom on Tuesday morning, everyone was thrilled to learn that it was Surprise Day! We went to Bell's skating rink and skated for a couple hours. We had a great time listening to the music and doing fun things like "The Hokey-Pokey" and "The Chicken Dance"! A special thanks to the nice people at Bell's for letting us come and visit. We had an awesome time!

Wacky Tacky Day!

We had a very Wacky Tacky Day last week after our 2-hour delay. Several students and their teacher all "dressed up" in mismatched and crazy attire. It was a fun day and we even managed to learn a few things too!

Real Men Read!

On Thursday we had a very special guest come to visit our class. His name was Mr. Brown and he was in charge of the Coca-Cola factory in Fort Wayne. He was very nice and an extremely tall man! He was 6 feet, 9 inches tall!! He played basketball in college. He read us a book about the life of Duke Ellington who was a famous musician. We were very thankful that Mr. Brown took the time to volunteer and read to us. He even gave us our own copy of the book!

Welcome!!

Dear Students and Parents,
Welcome to my new class website! I am so glad you have found it. We will be doing lots of very cool things here. I will be writing a weekly update about some of the happening in our class as well as posting pictures that we have taken from field trips, surprise days, and other fun activities at Adams! You can also check out some of the links on the side of the blog to some of our favorite websites with fun educational games and reading materials.  Feel free to spend as much time looking around as you like. I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Sincerely,
Mr. Brandenberger
